Hello,

Now that I have the storage, display, and protection figured out for my ASE Bullion Coins, I'm going to use an Air-Tite Album, let's see if I understand spot pricing.

The Silver Eagle Coin Company has a 2009 ASE for $24.00 after S&H charges that comes to $28.00. As of right now the spot price for silver is $16.37 per ounce. That means I'm paying a premium of $11.63 if I buy this coin right now. I think I could do better but on the other hand that isn't too bad.....is it?

Thanks,
Rich

Check with your local dealers. You should be able to get closer to $20-$21 or so plus tax (if your state charges it). You wont have to pay for S/H and you have it right there in your hand. $28 per is too steep.

I saw an advertisement for ASE at $19/each this week (they quickly sold). Anything over $21 is too high right now.

$24? That's crazy.

My closest reputable dealer sells BU ASEs and other generic rounds for $2.00 over spot. I haven't been to see him since the POS dropped below $16.00, so I'm not sure if he has raised his premiums. He also sells graded ASEs at numismatic prices.

My closest dealer sells ASEs for $25.00 minimum, treating even the non-graded ASEs as numis instead of bullion. I don't shop there too much.

Look around and you should find them for a reasonable price.

Hello,

The best price I have found so far is $7.00 over spot from my local dealer. Even ebay is high. I noticed one seller offering a 2009 for $1 plus $1 shipping. I wasn't sure about that though the auction ends in 2 days.

Check here:

Although you have to pay shipping, it's still a lot cheaper than the prices you've been discussing.

Hello,

I'm looking for everything as I'm just starting out. I suppose I could buy from APMEX and just save enough money for 3 or 4 coins at a time.

Thanks,
Rich

If you can, go to a local dealer or post a WTB ad in the BST forums here. I'm sure you'll get responses with reasonable prices.

You can/could purchase the 2009 ASE ....slabbed and graded MS69 for $23.00 Free shipping, plus a mag loop, and some reading material..... I did.
So, yeah, the raw ones from dealers should be cheaper than that price !
