Thank you both! Now I just need to find that 2015-P business strike in a PCGS slab to fill the last hole!

jbuck: When I did the ANACS submission for the S VDB, I included the nicest looking Ike I had, a 1973 S UNC Silver Clad. All of the Ike proofs I inherited have the haze issues. Thought it would be fun to have one graded example of that coin. . .there are some nice ones in my Proof Sets, but I've neither the courage nor the the inclination to start cracking open those.

Quote:All of the Ike proofs I inherited have the haze issues. Thought it would be fun to have one graded example of that coin. The silver Ikes in my Dansco have that haze to one degree or another. It was a reason why I wanted a "do over" and built the graded set. I wanted to have higher grade examples without the haze, but did not want to upgrade coins in an album that has been intact for thirty years. For what it is worth, I cracked all my proof sets to fill Dansco holes. I still have the OGP materials in storage. I have no regrets.

I've several Ike's but none graded. I'll have to dig 'em out to see if it's worthy of posting.

I buy 2 uncirculated sets, 2 proof sets, and 2 silver proof sets each year. One set remains in OGP, and the other I crack open for my Dansco album. I have not yet lost an ounce of sleep over it yet..

There are millions of those 70s proof sets. Dealers have a hard time getting rid of them so they are eager to sell them to you for a discount. The individual coins tend to sell for more at least from my experience.

The individual coins tend to sell for more at least from my experience. Way, way back an LCS hired a new guy. He took all the proof sets, broke them up, sold all the coins individually over a couple of weeks. The dealer had been sitting on those sets for years.
