Well I tried uploading pictures of the coins I got from my friend but the pictures are too large and nothing I do seems to make them be able to go in this post. Comparing the Capped Bust quarter I got to my other silver, the capped bust is very goldish looking and even after cleaning (I know, I shouldn't clean, but I couldn't tell what it was until it was cleaned) it still looks like its a gold coin. Is there any reason why it is like this? |

Coinsearcher - My friend got a bucket of old coins for free at his job while tearing down houses. The owner of a house he was tearing down said that if there was anything in the house he liked he could have it. Since my friend has had it he has had no idea what was in it (most of them needed lots of cleaning to be able to see what they were) so I came over and helped him out.

i also found a 1943 merc today doing a box and also when I went to dump some coins found a 20 dollar bill in the parking lot!  |

Was finally able to find some CWR's today, searched $100 and found a beautiful VF 1942 merc.

Got another box today and I got 2 64 dimes! I'm starting to have fun with dimes. Still not as much silver as halfs, but it requires a lot less money  Oh, and I got a 5 pence lol |

The first box was a string and son box, the second was a non descript bank box from pnc bank. What are you searching?

I have thus far only been able to find Brinks boxes, others on here have said they have found silver dimes in brinks boxes but I have yet too. I almost always find silver dimes when I am able to get CWR's and from what I have heard String & Sons boxes produce pretty well. I am still on my search for a bank in my area that has String & Sons boxes of any coin.

finally got some CWRs and found 5 roosies and 2 wheat pennies HA! I know I see this alot but never understood how someone always mistakes pennies for dimes and vice versa

Hit my first dime box this week, my wife has been wanting to do a roosevelt folder, my box was 80% customer rolled, landed one 62 silver, she got her album full also, except for one 2009, and both 2011, which I thought was odd. I'm not much into dimes, iv got a bunch of old mercurys, but never searched them, gonna start adding them to the mix.

To get dimes out of shrink wrap, I just bend it. This stretches the
plastic and then you can ease them out of 1 end at an angle.

I personally use a box cutter and just swipe it real quick around the middle of the roll, then when I bent it, it will break into two pieces rather easy and the coins are easy to pour into my hand from each half. I do the same with bank rolls of dimes that are rolled in paper as well.
