Another $50 in dime rolls gave me nothing, however I did find a 1945 merc in the reject slot at bank!

I was on the road for work yesterday & punched "banks" into my GPS @ lunch. I went to the first one on the list & got 100$, Got a '60. It was so tarnished that I almost missed it....

Hey guys.
So far from the two boxes I got and mentioned above, 1 from Loomis and 1 from Brinks, the Brinks yielded one 1964.
I happened to go into Manhattan Bagel yesterday for some bagels and in my change got a nice 1964 rosie!
Still got about 2/3 left of my Loomis box to go thru, will
let you know, but looks like a skunk.
I never find proofs. I am searching the rest of this box for proofs and silver I may have missed.

Went to the bank today to dump my weeks accumulation of searched coins and the machine filled up about a quarter of the way through. I headed over to a different branch that is not familiar with me and dumped the remainder of the coins. I went to the teller and she tries to tell me that they are going to charge me a 10% fee even though I have an account with the bank. I asked to speak with the manager and he says that there is no way that I had accumulated over 1K in change and was just now dumping it so I had to be dumping coins on behalf of a business. After arguing with the manager for a bit he agreed to not charge me but did tell me that they were going to be flagging my account and regardless of which branch I go to I will be charged the 10% fee in the future.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do, this is the only bank I have been able to find in my area that has coin machines?

Did you explain to them that you are just a coin collector, and not a business? You don't say that in your post, which is why I ask. Sometimes the truth is the best way to go.

My CU also charges a 10% fee to use their counter, but only to non-members. 5% fee as a member, and 0% as a "gold star member" ($5,000 min acct bal).
A 10% fee is rediculous, but those counters are expensive.
A 10% fee will buy you a lot of silver.
If they don't cooperate, time to find a bank that will.

A friend of mine has a reserve-bank grade machine (250 cps, $15,000) and agreed to count and wrap cents for the boy scouts. $1000 face took over four hours. Even at $15 an hour for labor, machine wear and disposables, that 6%, then you still have the cost of taking them to the bank (40 boxes don't fit on a bicycle). |

The small De Larue machine that I use will count $1,000 in dimes in approximately 3-5 minutes. It then spits out a reciept for the amount, including any dimes counted as cents. The girls almost never have to come to the machine, only to change out a bag, which is very infrequent as I limit my dumping to amounts between $500-$1k.
