You people who are only rim searching are missing out on the possibility of finding some good coins with very nice value. 1970D doubled die reverse in AU would bring $100 or more, and the 1982P missing mintmark dimes are very valuable too.
Dunno, to me it's kinda a waste of time to pick out the obvious without maximizing the possibilities. You're all looking for $1 silver dimes when you could chance finding single coins worth hundreds.

True, but I usually dont have that ammount of time to search, I only do clear brinks wrappers. Plus if I leave them in circ, its more for you

I search the faces and look for the missing P Dont really know what the double die would look like and would probably over pass one especially if they aren't very obvious Plus it might be a waste of time for you but if we are trying to get a set of the silver roosies then why would we need those other coins lastly it's not all about value of the coin, who cares if we are only finding dollar dimes what are you finding 3 cent pennies?

coppercoins. do you think it is more woth my time and effort to search an entire box of $250 dimes in hopes of finding a DDO or 82 no P plus silver? or looking through pennies that could get me a few more DDO's and wheats? I feel like there would be more $$ involved with the dimes becuase of silver. but, there are more varietes and DDOS, etc with pennies... anyone?

Hi everyone, went out yesterday before dirtfishing on my day off, thought I'd better pick up some change first, in case I got skunked. So, from 3 banks I nabbed $1500 in cwr. Good thing I picked 'em up because, no luck detecting, drove 35 miles to a spot that looked good from Google bird's eye. Been hoping for a Barber all year, with $18k searched so far. I've actually dug 8 Barbers this year, half, quarter, 6 dimes. Got a clad-proof dime in the mix, my third this year. Wish I had time to search for errors, but I don't. Last couple months I've only been searching $1-2K in dimes, it's not like they aren't out there, it's the dumping part I dislike, duh! ffd

No. The mint did not start making the silver proofs until 1992. And even then, they still make the clad proofs as well. Regardless, a good find.

This week's box was a good box. Finally got my first Barber - 1908D! Very excited to find a 102 year old coin in circulation. And it's definitely been around the block a few times too.
Also found a 64D and a 72 proof. Almost missed the proof - hardly has any of the mirror finish left.
