which do you tend to get more luck with? because when I ask for a box at the bank, they always give me a sealed one

I have better luck with bank rolled or brinks rolled coins....all the customer rolled coins I get seem to have all the good stuff removed!!

Quote: Ibab that's great for a $1k bag. Seven silver canadians is not typical, do you live near the border? Congrats,I like those. its a few hundred miles - but I know the machine doesn't take modern candanian coinage. so it must take the old silver stuff. @Sdcoinguy - i'll take a look for them.

yeah I mean overall you'll probably do better with unopened boxes, because, of course, if they're unopened then no one has been able to remove the silvers. and you should get 1-2 per box. on the other hand, though my experience with CWRs is that they're usually crap, if you don't get them here and there, you will miss out on the chance to win it big. you're certainly not going to find, for example, a full roll of Mercury dimes, etc. in a box. so, don't put the eggs all in one basket.

Quote: you found 37 mercs in one box? or is that your year's report? I wish! You'd have definitely gotten pictures for that. But, sadly, I meant that I found one 1937 merc in my last box.

Tried some dime rolls and found my first silver: 1964-D. Found it in the very last roll of $100 worth. Will definitely be getting more!

all my luck is with CWR... the teller at my bank saved me 4 solid rolls.
other than that, I seem to do very well, if better with CWR, I always thought they pulled out the goods.. NOT.. that explains the roll of hidden pennies and forgein junk I get in them, so I KNOW the tellers dont look them over...fee pikens.. around here you would know if somone hunts dimes.. not MANY do...i remember most times I search CRW and I go on a $100 drought thinking these were picked through, I find one! more often than not, you get at least 1 silver/ $100

I think they have both treated me about equal I have gotten customer wrapped with as many as 3 silver also customer wrapped with a MERC! my boxes haven't been bad either the most per box was 5 I think only skunked once and they were all 2010P dime searching is becoming my favorite because of it's challenging qualities to get the whole silver roosie set but the fact that it's still very doable plus the occasional mercs and canadian siver PS the canadians that are silver aren't sorted out by a machine because silver isn't magnetic the other newer non-silver canadian coins are magnetic

well 20 bucks won't get you very far my friend. you need to do hundreds, generally, and go to a few different banks.

Ibab, they had 2010 dime rolls at your bank? I hope you got them for face value. And also what years are silver dimes from canada
