I was just poking around on the NGC registry and noticed this set. it is truly amazing even though there is no pictures of the coins, the grades are amazing in themselves. The first 2 coins add up to almost a million dollars and thats not counting the other MS-62-67 coins in the set. Anyway I just thought I would share, if the two of the MS-67 coins actually had the correct score (it is showing only 1 point for these coins) I believe this set would either be in the #1 slot or would be second and its not even finished yet. Anyhow here is the set http://coins.www.collectors-society...eSetID=37882

Replace thread with registry set and you get what I mean. Still, I can only imagine what they look like.

well I said it didn't have pictures but still doesn't make the set useless. I think the coins in the set are amazing especially the chain cent and even though there are no pictures (I know how much everyone here loves pictures) if anyone has ever tried just filling a Dansco7070 with the Large Cents that are included in that particular album they have to appreciate what is being accomplished here. I know I do not have 2 coins in my collection when their value is added up equal almost a million dollars, do you? This also goes with some other threads where I said you do not have to have pictures to have an amazing set and most top registry sets do not have pictures because they collect coins not pictures Quote: Replace thread with registry set and you get what I mean. To be honest I can't figure out what you are saying here, but if you dont think its an amazing set and the thread is useless then go ahead and delete it I guess. I would have never guessed some of these type of coins had been preserved in some of these grades (I have never heard of a MS-68 1793 Wreath Cent) so just seeing the grades of some of these coins are amazing to me. I would love to see pictures of these coins but doesn't make or break the set to me, its the dedication the owner has applied to this set that I think is truly amazing and then thinking about how long they had to search before they found the coins in this condition. I know I looked around for a couple years to just find a Classic Head Large Cent in AU condition, to find any Classic head in MS-67 by PCGS is a remarkable feat I do not know if you have to register to see the set but just in case I will show the numbers since there are no pictures of the coins

Sorry Bryan, I was just trying to be funny. Especially since you give me a lot of grief about my 7070 and the lack of photos! Actually, it is not worthless, it was a tease though. I am sorry you took offense. Now I know how you feel when you see references to my 7070 without pictures. When I saw your thread title, I was expecting a link to some incredible photos! Touche! I did click on the link though. When I said "I can only imagine what they look like" I meant that. I immediately starting wondering what this set would look like. Not just each coin, but the whole set. Complete or not, it is most definitely an accomplishment.

Oh I didn't take offense, I just thought it was amazing but if others don't I understand and don't want to take up space over something I thought was special. I just imagine how hard it must have been to find coins in this condition to include in the set not to mention the money. I guess if you have the money you can find the coins if you have the right connections (both I am lacking) I added up the value of the coins on Numismedia and some of the RB coins do not have a value so I just used BN and even at that the sets value according to them is $1,489,890.00 and I have noticed just in my search trying to find some of the coins for their price would be considered a great deal for some of the Large cent coins, not sure if each of them in the series is the same way but I know if I could find a 1812 in AU-50 for 1890.00 I would have jumped all over it because a problem free graded example of any Classic Head I have found in AU condition is usually double that amount

I wonder how long it has taken to assemble this set. I am guessing that the coins with the oldest date (7/23/2007) represent when the set was initially registered. I wonder how long had those coins before starting the registry. This has my mind going now! I completely retract my previous "worthless" sentiments!

That is an increadible achievement finished or not. I would have never bleieved there was a 1793 wreath cent in MS68! If I had that much to spend on coins I couldn't contain myself.

Look at the users id though. His id is yeoldeone. That would imply he is older and has probably been building the collection for awhile. Regardless he has done well building a nice set. Sincerely, John Leckrone

While I can certainly appreciate the time and effort and as mentioned, dedication to achieve something so incredible is simply put, amazing.
I too had no clue coins of that type were around in this condition, Bryan, Thanks for the effort you placed in getting this information to other collectors, I think this persons has "some sets", LOL, LOL. I am simply, jealous and can only imagine what a person would have to do for a living to achieve an enormous goal like this, you have to admit, You have to wonder yourself?PS, YEOLDONE, God Bless him/her for being able to assemble such works of art and can only imagine to, what this set, once it hits the auction block, maybe someday it will, what it would bring in, the auctioneer's % alone should be a staggering figure!

here is a link to just all his coin pictures he has in all different registry sets http://coins.www.collectors-society...opleID=10435 there are about 18 coins per page with a total of 62 pages so that should keep all you busy for awhile that like looking at fantastic coins instead of just looking at grades. I know I have moved away from the original reason for this thread but I tell you, this collection is amazing and even though I don't know who this individual is I am sure if this set ever gets broken up it will make head lines all over the coin collecting community

That is simply amazing. Here's his Seated Liberty Half gallery...includes his notes on each coin, usually including when/where he purchased them. Beautiful coins!
