Hey guys. I wanted to ask you all if you have any suggestions on how to earn enough money to buy coins. I am young, and I am saving money to buy a 1916D Mercury dime, but I would like to acquire a lot of nice key date coins. I am in the 13-16 age range, and any suggestions will be appreciated. Please help. - coincrazed Moved to main forum - Sap

Summer just started. There's big money in cuttin grass. And you'll get a workout and have a nice tan too.

I absolutely hate asking my parents for money or even getting an allowance from them. I am not suggesting you do exactly what I do, but like I said in a recent post of Lafaa, thinking outside the box will definitely help. I bought one of those red two-headed candy machines, and I placed it in a restaurant. It makes around $30 a month, which definitely helps. I also came up with the idea of recycling cans and bottles, which makes around $25 a month. I also look for good deals on ebay or my local pawn shop, and then I resell that for a profit. Edited to add: The great thing about the candy machine is that I barely do any work. I occasionally check the money, and occasionally buy new candy for the machine, but other than that it generates around $30 a month for me doing nothing. I place a lot of importance on the saying,"Don't work for money, let money work for you." I paid some money for the machine and candy, and now it just generates money for me.

Wheatguy, how do you sell stuff on ebay? I am very interested. You don't have to have a credit card to do that? Please reply. You may be solving my problem! - coincrazed

I wold star knocking on your neighbors doors offer to do odd jobs. I 'don't know where you live but around here there is all kinds of tree debris from the winter that has to be picked up before you can mow. I think you could reasonably ask 5-10 bucks an hr. BUT DON'T BE SLACKER, Don't goof of on the job and you'll get repeat work and progressivley more responsible work and more money. When Iwas your age I mowed lawns. I could'nt wait for winter snow storms on a good day I'd make 50-60 bucks shoveling snow. In the past twenty yrs. I think I've had kids looking to shovel snow for me twice, I don't understand it.

Oh. I guess I should be happy with what I've got. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sorry for coming down so hard on you, I just thought you were patronizing me. - coincrazed

It's pretty simple. Just sign up for ebay, and then create a Paypal account. You can create a Paypal account by linking a bank account or debit card, and then after that it's pretty simple to sell on ebay. The fees, shipping, and other stuff can be pretty hard though. Just another quick note but my family's somewhat been affected by the economy, but I am still buying coins and other stuff, since I don't get any money from my parents.

Maybe you should try recycling. There is probably a recycling center near your home, and by saving cans and bottles, you can make a pretty good amount per month.
There is no magic answer for making money, but with persistence it can be done.
