Do you think that I should remove it from the keyring or keep it complete as it is? By the way, any one know what VAM it is, slanted S to the left but I can't see any doubling in the date? BTW I paid £21 about $31
I'd grade it at about EF-45. It's a circulated, common-date coin so if you must put a Morgan dollar into a jewelry piece this was a good choice. Mounting the bezel probably inflicted some rim damage so if you take it off you will likely have a circulated, damaged common-date Morgan. I'd just keep it as a key ring and enjoy the novelty. Or, you can pass it on as a nice gift for a young numismatist!
This would be a nice pocket coin, the bezel looks like one of those screw top types so it's easy enough to remove it. I wouldn't keep it on the key ring, I've seem them come lose and the coin getting lost.
