I've got the dates ID'd ok but I still have trouble with MMs. Is this Machine Doubling, deterioration, damage or a rpm1968-S-LMC-Question

I do not think it is a RPM from what I see. We will have to see what the experts think. Can you post a pic of the full obverse? Will help with placement of the MM.

A little bigger pic of the area would be better. A lot of the time (not always), if it's Machine Doubling you will also see it nearby on other devices, and generally facing in the same direction. So, if you see that same effect on the north to northwest side of the date, it is most likely Machine Doubling.

If I suspect Machine Doubling, I turn the coin so the the doubling is facing me and scan mainly the surrounding area, but also the rest of the coin to see if there is more. More times than not, there is.

Very slight Machine Doubling. It is also probaly present on the tops of the numbers of the date...doesn't necessarily have to be, but it probably is.
