coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/12/2010 5:09 pm I think the area in question is sunk into the planchet. I'm thinking a defective planchet with a flaw in that area. A defective planchet would look completely different and would not affect how the metal struck up into the die. A die chip would be raised. JimR has it right, except that "strike through" is not proper terminology...it's "struck through" - past tense. Report this Post to the Staff
