When issued by the mint they came in sealed cellophane envelopes. Those seem to be a set put together by someone else.

They are probably now searched. Great years for doubled dies and the silver is a real plus for these years.

These sets were originally for proof sets.

I know this set was put together and IS NOT original. This is the style the mint put out for proof coins only for the years before 1956 and earlier!!

The original sets were put together with 1-staple,to hold the 5-coins in their cello wrappers, which over time have most all become yellow and brittle, which was an ordinary staple, not a gold colored one, and the coins were only proof, and I have never seen a set like this, where there is an example of both the Philly and Denver mints.

This is a home made rigged mint set of both mints, NOT from the mint!!!I collect proof/mint sets and know about what I have, sets from 1953 proof & 54 mint to date. Knowledge is, like most everything else, the key to most in life....
