Reverse seems to be Proof-like?

Beautiful! Love the toning on the Reverse.

I agree with JimR: MS-64. I think the details are there for a 65 but there are a few too many knicks in the field on the Obverse to make it.

Outstanding piece - well done!

1881-S MS64 - CDN puts at $50. I imagine a slight premium for the nice reverse tone. Great pickup!

I see wear and a ding on the southern obverse denticles.

I'd go a little lower than 64. MS63

Knowing how common 1881-S's are in high grade, I'm gonna go against the trend here and say it's 65 all day. I'd like to see the obverse under the same angle and lighting, but rotated 90 degrees - that will bring out any marks we can't see because of the angle of the lighting. The cheek looks really nice, though, and a TPG grader who has a total of ten seconds to look at the coin will check that first.

There are better pictures at this post: https://goccf.com/t/65481

Also, bringing up old business, does this coin appear PL to you?

The reverse is PL most likely, the the coin overall isn't and wouldn't get the Pl designation at a TPG. I'd say MS-64, due to the new photos in the link you provided. Very nice eye appeal and great Morgan!
