This is one of the rarer dates of the series with just a bit over 18,000 minted. It's not hard to find these believe it or not. My guess is that a lot survive due to the fact it was the end of the series and people weren't too interested in seeing these circulate too much more. Plus, they must have instantly become an interesting denomination since the denomination itself was discontinued.

This coin has precisely the look and surfaces I want in a decent, circulated 3CN.

I'd go VF on this one - nice LIBERTY, some decent hair details and looks original and uncleaned.

One more thing to add...this coin was not very well struck. Most of the time, you can pretty much grade circulated 3CN based on the wear on the cheek alone (until the coin gets really worn down).

VF-30 with a weak strike.
The reverse I would not disagree with very low XF details.

As I was scrolling down through the obv pic I was saying VF. I'll stick with that. I have one pretty close to this. It's a VF, just a hair or two better so I'd go VF30 on this one.

I grade this coin at least VF35. However, it's worth of an XF price. If you see the coin in hand, you'll note the XF type wear on the cheek. The strike might be less than stellar. However, one other thing to note is the strength of various areas of the rims and dentils and especially the beads in her crown. I compared this coin side by side with one in an ANACS XF40 coin (for 25% more money!) and mine compared quite nicely (if not better in some ways). Also, it was better than another XF that a different dealer was selling.
