I fell in love with this coin instantly at a recent coin show. Barring the couple of hits on the obverse (odd enough I didn't notice it until after I looked at my own photos...this happens to me fairly frequently!), the surfaces are superb. I just don't see nicer circulated 1869 2-centers very often and I thought this one needed a home with me for the time being.

That is a fantastic coin, and much nicer than my 1868 2 center which is VF.

That is really nice. I think you have an XF coin there.

Man it happens to me all the time. For example, believe it or not the scratches on this Half Cent obverse were not noted at the show.

I still like this Half Cent so I decided to keep it.

I think it's a nice looking coin that would grade VF.
Rest in Peace

The degree of wear on this is basically XF even though the strike is about average and a bit below in areas (like the WE). I bought this as an XF and would likely resell as the same. It's possible it would slab as VF35 but I'd be surprised/disappointed to see it in a lower grade holder. Take note of the strength and sharpness of the lettering, especially the motto. Overall, the design elements remain quite strong based on the strike.
