That doesn't matter Lafaa. The coin is certified, graded genuine due to artificial coloring, which is what the 91 in the barcode stands for. It is a 1903 Proof Morgan dollar. Because PCGS said and in hand I'm sure it has the proof look to it. Nothing wrong with the listing or the seller. |

It could, but if you know anything about slabs you could probably tell it is genuine. Most likely it is real but the pics are a bit blurry.
You have to understand that the majority of slabs are real, and a bit of study and looking and slabs can easily help you avoid buying a fake slab.

Wheat guy. If I bought that coin in slab,would you buy it from me at a later date?I would be concerned that a coin person as these folks seem to be would have sent it to a grading company that wouldn't assign a grade to a problem coin.It makes me feel uneasy and I think Hemisboat would have a nightmare.

That is the way PCGS works. If the potential buyer can't assign his/her own Details grade, then they shouldn't buy the coin. There are tons of PCGS coins in Genuine slabs, the key is to learn how to grade the coins PCGS hasn't assigned a grade to.
I personally wouldn't buy the coin, since I am not a Morgan person, the pics are pretty bad, and I would want to save up for a problem free example. But others may not have the same opinions as I do.

I ask a couple of questions of the folks and they attacked me by accusing me of not being a serious bidder,etc..I guess it is in a fake holder.

I see nothing questionable about the coin/slab/eBay listing. The asking price is high though.

Halfwiitty - I agree. I also inquired with one question, "please provide the specifications on the length, width and thickness of the slab" (which are fairly easily to provide. I also received a ridiculous email back. If you review their feedback @ toolhause.org, you will get a better picture. Who needs the stress. IMO only

Let's say you're a coin dealer. You've had a brick and mortar store for twenty years, and you've been selling on ebay for more than a decade. You sell everything from $10 coins to $10,000 coins, and you have more than 10,000 Feedbacks. At any given time, you have almost a thousand coins up for auction. Then, out of nowhere, somebody who's been an ebay member for less than three months starts questioning your integrity. You know what? I'd tell you where to stick it, too. |

I have delt with the seller in the past and had nothing but a positive expereince, might have caught him on the wrong day, or worded the questions in a way that made him feel attacked...in any event I see nothing worng with the slab, the coin is obviously damaged hence the genuine slab.
