Bought some 2x2 holders from Wizard last month. Used first class mail for shipping. Took 13 days after processing to get here from a 100 miles away in Virginia. I let that go. Bought some more and now it is 14 days since the order processed and no sign of my order. If I buy from Amos or Ohio Coin I get the order in less than 6 days. Was supposed to make a presentation showing of my Morgans today but that's out the window. With ebay purchases I get my orders in less than 3 days from time of shipping. Has anyone else encountered slow shipping from Wizard? Prices are a little better than elsewhere and a good selection of products but shipping is slow. Also no tracking numbers are supplied.

Your thoughts

I have always gotten my stuff in about 5 or 6 days after ordering, as long as I placed it between Sunday and Thursday. 7 to 8 days for orders placed on Fridays and Saturdays. I live here in Eastern NC about an hour and a half from the state line. I do not get a tracking number either. Sure would be nice to have one though

Just received an email from Wizard stating that they were back-ordered and the item shipped today. Have to believe them about the back-order "but" and this is many "buts", (1) why didn't they tell me there was a back-order problem in the beginning, (2) why, on their site did my account say processed and completed on 20 May. (3) why, 1 hour after I fired off a nasty email to them did the back-order arrive and my package was shipped.

Thats all but I would still like some opinions. Cant believe a company this size does not have tracking.

Correction for above. My order showed completed on April 20 not May 20. Sorry.

It is amazing and true...the post office, as large as it is, does not have tracking.

My wizard orders have always gotten to me fairly quickly, but have been heavy enough that Fedex Home Delivery was the best option.

Ordered from them (Wizard) twice. First time, shipping was reasonably quick (4 or 5 days) but they sent a wrong item. When I emailed them, they basically said "oops, sorry". I called them, argued with a girl, who finally agreed to send me the correct item. I kept (and paid for) the wrong item. So I later made a second order, thinking mistakes do happen. Guess what, same thing. Again I called, got the same song and dance about how "there's only two of us here, sometimes orders get messed up...". Sent me the correct item, I sent the wrong one back. She offered me another item as a gesture of good faith. I never received it. They batted 1.000. Needless to say, I now order my supplies from other vendors.

I like Wizard's webpage, the items they sell and their prices.

I did have problems with them this past year. I liked a coin case they had. I started the calling first part of December. For days no one would answer. I sent E mails. No answer. Mid December I did make the online order.
Well into January I received the coin case, with the wrong trays. I had ordered the trays, that they had linked to the case I ordered.
After a few days of calling I did catch someone in the office. Told them my problem. The lady, with phone in hand, walked to the area where the coin cases were, with her boss, and they told me what trays would work with my case. I selected and ordered 6 trays based on what they told me. They also told me they would send a document to send back the wrong trays. After about a week with no response to my E mail, asking if they were shipped. I called again. They said they were going to call me, because the trays I ordered were not the right ones for the case I have. "They were going to call me" They new I was not happy with their service, but did not address that issue. Also they did not send the document for the return of the wrong trays.

I will not order form Wizard again.

Goldrush58, Thanks for that info. My next order was going to be the case with the 2x2 trays and slab trays. Now I may think about who I will order them from.

I've had several transactions with Wizard and they have always delivered within 7 days. They have also been helpful when I wanted to amend orders after they have been submitted.

I have ordered from Wizard three or four times. I had a problem with my last order- the Dansco Jefferson nickel album I ordered had an extra Page 3 instead of Page 5. Wizard handled the situation very well. Page 5 is the update page for that album so they just sent me that single page instead of having to send the whole album back and then shipping me a new one. They fixed the problem to my satisfaction even though it was technically Dansco's fault the pages were duplicated.

So we have about equal, bad and good. I personally will let my problems with them pass on but I will look twice at other vendors before ordering from them. A quote from above. "there's only two of us here, sometimes orders get messed up...". This shows a bad lack of customer training which I think is the problem with Wizard right now. Never tell your customer that you are understaffed or are having interior problems. Well, anyway you guys have been a big help with your different insights into this post.

Edgeman,

They could be right .. could have just been bad luck, for a couple of us. But I do know, because they told me, that they had went to a coin show in Florida, and their office pretty much stopped working.

As for the coin cases. I think if you know just what you want, and what will work. Then you might be ok.

I now have two Lighthouse coin cases. I ordered the second one, to fit the wrong trays I first received from Wizard. I found that case on E bay, from Vernon coins, It was a very good price and free shipping.

For the cases, I guess trying to mix the trays can be a problem.
Some of the trays are different heights. For example: you can put six 2X2 trays into a case or four that hold slabs. The second case I got I did put one tray for slabs and the others 2X2's it seems to work.

Oh.. and the lighthouse 2x2 coin holders seem to work best. I started out using Intercept shield holders, they fit to tight.

I'm not saying they're a bad company. What I'm saying is my experiences with them have been poor in 100% of my dealings with them.

edgman-
I was kinda taken aback when she made that statement. I assumed they were a large outfit, nice web site and ads in print, but she made it sound like a basement shop. She spent the first part of the conversation making excuses, and actually seemed a little annoyed that I wasn't buying into her argument.

Halfwitty-
Personally, I have never had the need to pay the extra charges to have coin supplies shipped to me overnight. I'm just a casual collector, not a dealer. I can wait.

Great info on the cases but seemingly bad for me because I will be using intercept shield 2x2's only. How tight do they fit? I was going to order the aluminum case that takes six trays for 2x2's. Wanted to add 2 certified trays also.

Among my many varied careers I used to teach customer service to firms who had problems with theirs. What the woman from Wizard told you just violated two of the cardinal sins of customer service. I also used Vernon Coin before and was pleased with them.
