Any Idea What Could Have Caused This On This Kennedy?

Halfwitty Pillar of the Community United States 1523 Posts	Posted 05/23/2010 10:54 pm This is a 72 Kennedy.On the obverse,there is a halo type rise around the portrait and the ear is mashed.On the reverse, the eagle looks blobbed, if that makes sense. I know it's not post mint as it came from an uncirculated roll.Any ideas from the Kennedy experts? Report this Post to the Staff

On Kennedy half dollars I see it much more frequently in the early 1970s, then again in the early 1980s. It rarely affects 1964-1969 coins. Report this Post to the Staff
