I recently dove into my old box of silver coins that I set aside a while ago when I first started collecting. I had almost forgotten about it! I took stock of everything I have and I was wondering if someone could let me know if I have anything in particular that is worth continued investing in. Thanks in advance!

Unless these are in GEM UNC condition, the lot won't make you rich. The 1894 Liberty nickel is pricey in grades above F12. If the 37-D buffalo only has 3 legs, you're in luck! On the 1942 Merc check for the expensive 2/1 overdate. Dimes, quarters, halves and dollars dated 1964 and prior are 90% silver. The 67 Kennedy is 40% silver. All the other moderns (65 and later) are pretty much face value unless they are gem unc.

Hope this helps.
Rest in Peace

The 1894 nickel is a better date, and goes up really fast in value on the higher grades. Worth posting pics of to have us grade it.

Check the 1937-d nickel for the 3-legged variety.

The Booker comm might have a bit of a premium over melt, but the rest of them are pretty common unless they are very high grades.

Nice lot!

My Buffalo nickel has 4 legs and my Mercury dime is just a regular 1942. No overdating.

Unfortunately the 1894 is pretty worn. It may go for $4-5 or so in that shape. I love the look of that Peace dollar! Nice and original.

I wish I had found some keepable stuff from when I was a kid, but I can not recall ever having any silver, and only a couple of run of the mill 1950s wheats. Not even a Buffalo nickel.

Sure would have like to have seen a die crack in Miss Liberty's hair or on that eagle's wing.

Adam E, yes, I know they aren't silver. They were just in the box of "silver" coins, as in the color. When I was young and I first started collecting coins, I kept them in boxes based on color. Thanks for the info though!
