I know it comes down to what you want to collect and what you personally want your collection to look like but I have a few questions that may help me out in deciding on what I want to buy.
I really would like to have the proof danso albums for my pennies and for my Roosevelt dimes. I have found 5 proof dimes in circulation ranging from 1976-2004 but was wondering about how much these things run if I were to buy the proofs on their own? The ones I have found are clad not silver. Is the dansco for silver and clad proofs or is there just a space for one or the other? Average prices you guys pay for silver and clad Roosevelt dimes?
As for the pennies I think I read that you guys get your proof pennies for right around a buck a piece, which seems really reasonable to me. I have not bought a coin ever before but I think I could spare a few bucks a week to make my new album look really nice.
Any information on the proof coins and the dansco albums would be appreciated. I am still looking up a coin dealer around me and will get to one soon and once I have a little better idea of what my options are. Thanks

The Dansco albums that include the proof only issues have both silver and clad.

In my opinion, I think you would be better off just buying the whole proof sets. That way you can cover the coins you need, then if you decide to do halves, quarters or nickles later, you will already have them. Most proof sets are fairly reasonable in cost. If your gonna spend the money on singles, why not spend the extra couple bucks on the whole set. That's what I did.

That is what I did as well, but I was already collecting all of the denominations. The sets are definitely cheaper than the sum of the singles.

To me a series is not complete unless I have the proofs as well. Hence I only buy the Dansco 8000 series albums which contain the proofs.

What the others are saying is correct. If your going to end up collecting more than just Lincoln cents and Roosevelt dimes it can be better, as far as cost, to buy the complete proof set.

That is if you decide to purchase the Dansco albums with proofs. And like jbuck said the proof albums have slots for both clad and silver proof coins.

Things to think about.
- If you are collecting the business strike coins from circulation, then you might not like how circulated coins look right next to proof coins.
- There would be some proof sets or even individual proof coins that will cost much more than a dollar each.

Some that come to mind (just ball park prices)
1995 silver proof set $75.00, 1995 silver dime $15 to $20.
1997 silver proof set $50.00, 1997 silver dime $15 to $18.
1999 silver proof set $210.00
2001 silver proof set $90.00
2002 silver proof set $60.00
2007 silver proof set $45.00
2008 silver proof set $65.00

2008 clad proof set $75.00

well I do already have collections of basically all the denominations but the ones I am concentrating the most heavily on right now are the dimes, Jeff Nickels, and LWC and LMC ( halves I take what I can get and actually am only missing about 12 dates/ mint marks total
I do pull all the rest of my coins the P and D varieties from bank rolls
I try to get the nicest pieces I can find for each coin of course but the coins are not in XF condition
I actually wondered if any of you guys have coins from circulation mixed with proof coins you purchased
I dont want the album to look dumb so maybe I will just buy the regular album and then buy extra pages in the future if I decide to buy the proofs

I don't mean to talk you out of which one you should buy.

Just wanted to give you what information I know.

As for how it will look, it only matters if you will like it.

The fact the you found them roll searching, has to mean something.

I have a few coins in some of my albums that I found metal detecting. I could upgrade them with better grade coins, but I like the fact that I found them.
