What will you do? if your daughter gave you a penny on your birthday after we lost our home, we are strugling but surviving, not because of the Economy 2 years ago. This is terrible for my 2 kids. We moved 200 miles away .Anyways I call this "penny from Heaven" that God is Listening to my prayer. To make it short , It was a rare 1974 aluminum penny. As soon as I found out to my search, we went out to eat & felt like I was on top of the world. If it meant for us, It will be, specially God show me so many sign before this special penny come to us. But I will continue....."In God we TRust" Thank you for your time....

I would not tell anyone I had this coin. I don't think you can have this coin because it never made it's way out into circulation.

Wow, I dont blame you guys, for not believing my story its very extra ordinary & feel grateful. One day you see, just like what happened to 1933 Gold Double Eagle was Never Officially Issued. it was ordered to be destroyed. The 1933 Double Eagle sold at auction on July 30, 2002 for $6.6 million + 15% buyers fee . The 1974 aluminum cents & 1933 Gold double Eagle have the same history.

Its not that we dont believe you, I dont see a reason to make an account just to lie. It's just that I'm just not sure what you are trying to accomplish in the thread other than our sympathy for your situation and admiration for your acquisition.

Honestly though, Noone will believe you with out pictures. And if there is an actual point to this thread, please make it clear.

And congratulations on your good fortune!

I did not have a desire to lie about my situation, its a waste of my time, I dont need any sympathy either. If bad things did not happened, we will not even have this 1974 aluminum cents. I agree to see is to believe, I don't have the access to a good camera yet. I will post a pic soon. Thank you, for the good ones.

I should rephrase that.

I believe you because I do not see what you would have to gain by lying about it. I re-read that and saw how it could seem like I'm insinuating that you did lie. that is not the case.

sorry for the confusion. Cant wait to see pics.

I can see you do not know your coin history so I will educate you a little. There is a HUGE difference between the 33 St Gaudens and the 74 Aluminum cent. The main one is that King Farouk got a license by the US Govt to deport the 33 St Gaudens out of the country with him, which made it legal for him to own, once something is legal for one person to own it is easy to prove another person can own it as well. The Aluminum cent didn't have this fate so EVERY one of those are illegal tender and are supposed to be destroyed when found and the Govt will confiscate each and everyone they find just as they did with the other 33 St Gaudens that came to light after the King Farouk coin was sold

It is silver color but never tarnish, I don't see any copper trace even fr tiny scratch under a strong magnifying glass, 1974 aluminum cents compose of 96% Aluminum trace metal mixed in, I used my refrigerator magnet & I was surprised it shows a hint of magnetism. I just need to get a accurate metric scale to weigh it. It exactly same size of regular penny like 1982's. So I Would like to get some authentication service. Any suggestion! thank you for your time.

Bryan,

The 1913 Shield nickel would be considered illegal tender then, too, by your description. There has been no attempt to destroy any of the five that I know of. Is there some difference between them and the supposed aluminum cents that were made?

Thank you, I been educating myself just recently since I received this 1974 Penny. Fortunately I'am not related to those useless men in the law firm or any useless congressman... I know it was rare for me even to hold it.
