i have asked several questions, regarding die markers or missing markers, previously. I have posted this coin before with a similar question, but with no conclusive answer. I read a post on a different forun, by someone who had the same coin, with the die markers matching coppercoins site, but the conclusion was that his coin was not the 1DO-002. my coin has all of the die markers descrbed at copper coins site. my questions is - is this the 1DO-002, or not.

I would say no. There seems to be evidence of extra thickness on the date, which would indicate that you have a coin with very slight doubling, but probably not enough to warrant a new listing. Let's wait to see if Chuck chimes in.

this response leads me to a follow up question. how can all of the die markers match exactly (apparently) but not be the DD in question?
its not that I am trying to make this coin something it is not - but I'm trying to understand how it happens that one coin which is not the doubled die in question can have the same die markers as the "real deal"

I've been watching this hoping that Chuck or coop would chime in on this. The markers do seem to match up nicely along with the thickness of the date, but I'm not expert enough to diagnose this. I hope you've got it!

Die markers will usually not match up exactly without one die matching another, but they can be similar and confusing.

This IS an example of 1909P-1DO-002.
