It's very interesting to hear what everyone else is working on. And it makes me feel better knowing that everyone else works on multiple albums at a time!

I'm also going to put together a custom nickel Dansco inspired by SpeckySnyder
Generic Nickel Album
page 1 from album 6110
page 1 from album 7111
pages 1 and 2 from album 7112
2 blank nickel pages

I'd rather have those three sets in one book than separate.

Don't exactly know what all those are since I stick basically with Whitman Albums. But if your making your own, congradulations. I too like to make my own Albums. For example I made a Liberty Head/Indian head/Jefferson Nickel Album all in one binder. No proofs or error coins of course. Liberty Head/Mercury/Roosevelt Dimes in one binder also. No proofs or error coins there either. Going to try a Half Dollar type Album like that next with several types. Same with Quarters.
With Whitman it's fairly easy since they have so many blank pages, blank covers, press on letters/numbers.

Yeah Carl,

I've just recently learned about the press on letters afforded by Whitman. Unfortunately, my OCD will never allow me stray from Dansco. Otherwise I'd have to buy six new albums. I can't have different ones on my shelf now can I?

Pinenut, I know exactly how you feel. I had two of my sets in Whitman albums and just transferred them to Danscos so they would "match".

A long, long time ago I too thought that way. Used to have nothing but Whitman since they are more common in the MidWest. Then many years ago, at coin shows, I started asking dealers where they got all their coins. Many said from people selling Albums. I asked what they did with the Albums after they removed all the coins. Almost all said they throw them out. So I started asking if they wouldn't mind bringing some to the next coin show. Some did and I started accumulating Albums of many different sizes, types, colors, etc.
Then too if you look around at anybody's book case, how many books look the same? Very, very few. And just how many people place valuable coin Albums out on display in a bookcase for the world to see? That is not to smart nowadays either.
So I said to myself, SELF, who cares what color, size, brand a coin Album is as long as it is free, can't complain. I do have well over 100 Whitman Albums though but many, many others of all kinds too.
I've even made some Albums with a Dansco Cover and other makes for the pages. Since the Albums are all mine, no one can complain.
By the way Whitman used to make, not sure if they still do, black press on letters/numbers. The Gold ones just wouldn't look right on a Dansco Tanish Album.

I am currently working on three. The Lincoln Cent album and the 7070 are the first two. The third is a custom album that holds Indian Head cents, Buffalo nickels, and Mercury dimes.
Rest in Peace

Primary focus: (Dansco's)

Standing Liberty quarters

Mercury dimes

Walking Liberty halves

Primarily via roll searching:

Lincoln Cents

Jefferson nickels

Others sporadically - when a deal presents itself:

Buffalo nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, Franklin halves.

Obviously, I'll have to buy some of the Lincoln cents, and have done so. As for the Jeff's - so far I'm 6 away from a set entirely from roll searching. I only do 2-3 boxes a month.
