Poll Question
What does your better half think about collecting coins?

Poll Choices
Loves it. She's helping search through my coins right now
Tolerates it. It keeps me out of her hair
Indifferent. What's with all the pocket change laying about?
Doesn't understand it. Rolls her eyes everytime you get excited about a penny.
Hates it. divorced you and took half of your collection and sold it to a kid for $15.00

Although she doesn't roll search she supports my hobby 100%. She likes looking at the coins, especially the shiny Morgans

Wasn't into it until I started a critter album. She now searches the bay for them.

I don't know why in the heck she specializes in JFK's and Wheat Cents,

My wife is ok with it as long as I clean up my "mess" every night. She also thinks that it's crazy I have 1,000-1,500 dollars in halfs in our room at any given time. She also doesn't like it when I use all her mixing bowls to sort coins.

My wife is like wornslick's. The big shiny coins are great by her. ASE, Morgans and Peace dollars I can buy all day long. I just tell her that they're hers.
No, really she's pretty good about it and supports my collecting "habit" 100%.

My wife is sitting right here, made me read this topic. We were debating between #3 and 4 but chose 3 in the end.

She got a kick out of the mixing bowl comment.

my girlfriend reignited my interest in collecting.. by sending me pictures of a couple of Morgans she had... who'da thunk right?

she supports me, likes listening to me talk about some I have, what I'm looking at purchasing, or what I wish I could buy
She smiles at my "wildest dreams" of finding something BIG ( and calls me goofy sometimes )

i couldn't ask for a more wonderful partner in the crazy thing we call life

Although she is not into it like I am, she's not against it either. Since the money I use to purchase coins comes from what I earn on the side, I can pretty much spend as much as I want (as long as I have it) without creating any friction.

I love this topic.
After I very suddenly discovered coin collecting recently after noticing the different '09 cents, my wonderful girlfriend has gradually become bitten by the coin bug.
Now I've got her searching her till at work for things, just today she found a Wheat penny and a silver nickel. She put together a complete set of State Quarters in one day, literally (I know, crazy right? no attention paid to mint marks, but still) Now shes working on wheat and memorial cents. And she rediscovered an 1887 Morgan dollar given to her as a small child, which I am completely jealous of and keep getting out to admire.

But yeah I'd say my significant other is pretty supportive of the whole thing. I think shes a 'keeper' lol.

LOL

nice topic

my wife just smiles and says that's nice. She supports to the extent that she is happy I am excited about something...plus if I buy a coin that is expensive she gets a piece of jewellery kind of like a bribe

Exactly what I was going to say.
Today you can not or should not say things like Mailman, Salesman, etc. Could start a war at home.
And then too what about those with more than one wife?
