Great looking nickel with a hammered strike ...... check out the full step detail and details above the dome.

Alas ..... IMHO .... this coin spent some time sliding around a drawer .... the obverse shows light signs of friction (wear) in Jefferson hair ....

I call this a beautiful slider ..... AU-58FS.

Hmm, I don't think that may be wear. I am wondering if it is just a little broken luster or photo issues. With such a great reverse I have a hard time finding the obverse showing wear. I want to grade this in the MS range. Say MS-64 range

I have to say that from I am looking at it's a MS-65+ with excellent luster and no recognizable bag marks.

So it is looking like I paid a little high for this 1942 D ($40.90), but I may have made up for it, a little, with the 1939 S ($13.01).

My big motivation for these, is now I am only needing one more to complete the set, the 1939 D.
There are 4 or 5 I will upgrade, but overall I am liking how it is turning out.

For me it seems like sometime I end up making a good deal on coins, and sometimes not such a great deal.

Either way .. I am really like this 42 D and the 39 S.

As for the pictures, I had to take several to get one to come out. All I do is set the coin on my desk, shine a light on them and holding the camera take the picture.

Again .. thank you all for your input.
