This is the first 2 CEN coin I have seen! I'm guessing it's AU and maybe AU+.

nohope will be the one who could probably give you the best opinion on this but I was thinking in the EF range but I could see AU if these are known for a weak strike

Hard to tell from the pictures but it does have some of the characteristics of Breen 2387/KFP17
Despite the evidence of struck though grease. There are clear signs of wear I would put it at VF30/35

The weak 'WE' would indeed hint at a lower grade than AU but the rest of the coin looks better, so I'm thinking its strike related issues. Not sure though.

Wow! VF25? I would have thought EF at a minimum.

I looked at it again last night and I have come to the conclusion that it is closer to XF.
VF35, someone will have a nice coin :-)

Two Cent Piece General Grading Standards

G4 Good- At least IN GOD visible.

VG8 Very Good- WE weakly visible.

F12 Fine- Complete motto visible. WE weak.

EF40 Extremely Fine- WE is bold.

AU50 About Uncirculated- Leaf tips, arrow points, and the word WE show trace of wear.

MS60 Uncirculated- No trace of wear. Light blemishes.

MS63 Select Uncirculated- Some distracting contact marks or blemishes in prime focal areas. Luster may be impaired.

I REALLY like this coin and the lack of "TS" is amazingly cool but...
Since the coin does have some wear, and we all know the FIRST place to get wear on the 2 Center is the "WE"...

I'm going with F-12 because of the "WE".
Rest in Peace

Moe, usually grading standards aren't strict to the point where one criteria trumps everything I think. I've seen this with Seated Liberty halves too. Sometimes they will come with weak 'LIBERTY' because of the strike or something, but the drapery will be XF-45. Often this will bump the coin, but it won't get a F-15 grade.
