I don't know much about these yet but I'm guessing that the firststrike status make them something special: The first image shows the obverse of the coins. The second is a bit tighter shot of the reverse. And the third is a close-up of the security die mark. Anyone know much about the coins from tis area? Thank you! Report this Post to the Staff

Nobody really knows what the diemarks are for, and when asked Pobjoy refused to comment due to 'security reasons' Report this Post to the Staff
Numi 63 Valued Member United States 128 Posts	Posted 10/07/2010 2:51 pm Apparently this is some sort of uncirculated two coin set. They came in a small blue vinyl folder that says "Bradshaw & Darlington of England" on the front of it. All that was in the folder were the two coins (stapled into clear plastic keepers) and the paper with the illustrations of the coins and the words "Security die mark First Day of Striking". Looks like whoever sold these coins had them marked @ $16.00 for the set. That's really all I know about them. Here's a closer shot of the obverse: Report this Post to the Staff
snowman Pillar of the Community United States 1840 Posts	Posted 10/07/2010 7:46 pm I wonder how many of these were minted. I'd bet that there were not that many. There may be a distinct possibility that many if not all of the coins were minted in in the first day. Report this Post to the Staff

Maybe someone who knows the full story (or most of it) on these coins will see this post and chime in.
