I see that it is an Orleans strike.....The year might help someone identify the VAM, and in turn identify the lump. edited to add: Could you please post a picture of the other side of the coin Troy?

Looks like a very far date and an oval O to me.....I'll guess VAM 15.....That is very far from conclusive though Troy. Eventually, some real vammers will be along who will do a much better job of identifying it, and will possibly tell you what that lump is also.

I haven't looked at the VAM yet but that lump is made from the bonnet "V" during a clashing of the dies together without a coin planchet inserted between the dies. You may also see Liberty's lips and nose along the inside of the wreath on L/S of coin. I believe the 1884-O also may have a transposed E from LIBERTY under the tailfeathers. You may have to look at several angles. They are hard to see sometimes. nlp

Sure is the same on the blue coin, I have 4 1884-o morgans all with the same "defect" in various stages

Impressive Nip. Good eye.
Now, we will have to wait and see if anyone can identify the variety from those pictures. (Your pictures are pretty crummy Troy). Are you using a scanner or a phone camera or what? Are all four of these coins in similar condition?

Well you can rule out the E clash on this one. That one has a clash coming out of the bonnet that is stronger then the E and this one is not it.
Larger photos of just the coin would be a help, Zee you have it right as a far date but I would like a larger pic for anything more than that.

Yeah the are in the same condition, I am using a olympus 14mb fe camera. the problem is I have no good lighting. I may use photobucket due to the fact I have to cut them down from 2-3mb to 90kb that might help. I'll try some other ways, check out the threads and re-post some better pics.

Where is the raised metal at exactly on the coin? is it by the wreath, on the morgans nose, on the eagles leg? Where exactly since you did not say.

Okay, so I am hanging with vam-15 based on what I 'think' I see in the date and mm placements. You guys are not going to let me have the final word on this are you?
