What are your thoughts on grade and color ? I picked this out of an unsearched ebay roll I bought this summer ($130)

I'm not a collector of SLQ, but I must say that is one beautiful looking Quarter!

AU 53-55. Interesting colors and great contrast of lady liberty to the rest of the coin. Fantastic strike and...full head?

This is one of my favorite SLQ's I've seen on the forum

That is a great looking SLQ. I would grade it AU-55 and is that a Full Head?

I should get some close-ups of the head.I think it is full but someone told me that term was for Unc coins only. And to tell the truth, I was not a collector of SLQ's...until I got this in that bullion roll. This coin started another collection but I'm afraid it's going to be hard to meet these standards.

Definitely AU details, though I'd feel more comfortable with that grade if I saw more luster. It is an XF-45 minimum anyways. The toning makes it look like it's been stored in a leather pouch. Nice find. That is one heck of a tough date, and you can confidently say that it's worth more than you paid for that entire roll!

Thanks for all the help everybody...I had a problem saying AU details with the worn rivets, but I'm new to SLQ's....I also like the color and to me that is a plus.

While there is a hint of wear on the high spots from circulation, what you are seeing on the shield rivets (or the lack thereof) is not all wear. Just like the head, the shield rivets are notoriously weakly struck on SLQ's, especially the ones next to Miss Liberty's hip at about 7:00 on the shield. You'll find that even MS examples will generally have some weakness in that area. Finding specimens with fully struck shield rivets can be difficult.

I would add that was one heck of a nice pick out of a roll! That one coin is worth a little more than what you paid for the entire roll.
