Any thoughts on a grade for this buffalo?
Thanks in advance!

The fields look hazy... any chance this is a "resurrected" coin (chemically restored)?

I'd say if everything's legit I'd put it about a VF-20 maybe as high as VF-30. Looks nice.

Thanks -- and yes, the field is certainly a bit strange... but I don't think this coin would be a candidate for restoration. I really doubt it was ever dateless, based on overall detail. Who knows what silly things people do to their coins, though!

Think I would go EF-40, altered surfaces. It definitely was not a restored date.

WITH THE AMOUNT OF HORN LEFT AND THE WEAR ON THE SHOULDER I WOULD SAY VF ALSO.

VF 30, not restored, but maybe cleaned at some point.
Definitely a keeper!

I'd say VF30, with minor corrosion, but not chemically altered via restoration attempt. My guess is that there is significant detail such that this is an original coin, but somewhere along the way maybe got dirt on it and that led to the corrosion?

Thank you, everyone, for your input on this coin. It sucks I have a hard time telling if nickel coins have been cleaned. (It's a bit easier for me with copper.)
