Hello everyone! I recently completed my 1oz Libertad set and I am a few coins short of completing my American Silver Eagle Set, I have also just started my 1oz Canadian Maple Leaf Set and man o man I can't help thinking how beautiful these pieces are! Each one has something beautiful & unique that makes me want to get more! They are all very appealing and I just want to say that we are very lucky to live in a region that has 3 countries in a row that produce their own 1 oz Silver Bullion coin! I was looking at a list of countries that mint 1 oz Silver Bullion coins and there aren't as many as I thought. So all in all this is just a salute to these beauties and a chance to voice your opinions on these coins and why you love em or any thoughts you have on the subject! For me, that walking liberty design is the most beautiful coin ever made! I must admit, I have never seen the Mexican silver coin before but I like the design a lot.

Never seen them put side by side before. Even though I'm a Commonwealth collector, and given a choice I'd pick the middle one, I should admit that the Liberties, both walking and flying, look way more attractive.

Love the mexican coin. It's artful like somone actually thought about it for a while. Would love to have one in my collection. The U.S. dollar is not original to me. And the canadian is to plain. Just my Two Cents worth. WOLF

Ignore wolf, he's a few coins shy of a set, if you know what I mean. Although, he is right about the Mexican coin. That does look well thought out.
The coins are gorgeous! As a kid, my favorite coin was the Walking half. We called it "big money". So, I'm partial to that one.
Seeing them side by side is really cool. One thing about this site: you never run out of ideas for a way to collect!

U.S. neo classic coin design compares with the best of the ancient Classic Greek designs. Walkers and St Gaudens are the best of the modern ones.

The walking liberty design is an ageless classic, but that mexican coin is stunning! I wish they would have left off the pedestal so she were just a floating winged beauty. someone should write the mexican mint about that.

It's an actual statue in Mexico City. That's why the angel is attached to it.

I just noticed that the reverse of the Mexican un onza is a history lesson - of different obverses used over the years on Mexican coins. Now I WANT ONE!

RealPeso Those are some very nice looking sets.
I also have a complete set silver Eagles. I am curious about the the maple leafs and Libertad. How many coins are there in each of those sets and are there any hard ones, that make them higher than silver price.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the comments! On the American Eagle just like everyone says, the walking liberty design is by far the most beautiful aspect of the coin for me. The Maple Leaf is what I love on the Canadian coin, they really struck it beautifully, when you look at one close up you really appreciate the texture on the leaf. I wish something else was chosen to adorn the other side instead of the Queen's portrait but Its still a nice coin. My only pet peeve on the Canadian one is the size difference, for the sake of simplicity I wish they would have made them the same size as the Eagle & libertad, It is always a hassle to get the right size airtites for the Maple Leaf. The Mexican Libertad is beautiful and I love all the obsolete eagles on the reverse but sometimes I feel it clutters up the reverse too much, unless you have a 2 oz or 5 oz libertad then it looks better. But either way, these are nice just kinda hard to get once and a while, most of the time you only find the older smaller 1oz "onzas" from the 80's and early 90's. Quote: I wish they would have left off the pedestal so she were just a floating winged beauty. Hey andrew! I have thought exactly the same thing, that would be more beautiful in my opinion.

Hey GoldRush58! Thank you! I started my Libertad set around 01-02 without knowing it would end up being a set, I would just buy a few here and there but never really wholeheartedly tried to complete a set until this year by chance there was a offer of a complete set so I went for it. The MAJOR key date and hard to get coin for the Libertad hands down is the 1998. The 1996, 1997, 1999 are semi key dates and the rest of them are still easy to get and obtainable. On the Maple leaf, I just started that set but I know that 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, & 2001 are going to be tougher to find, I haven't reasearched price ranges yet, but I really hope they are not too bad.
