Hey everyone,

My girlfriend found this about 15 minutes ago while coin roll hunting. I'm thinking Machine Doubling, but I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject. What do you folks think?

1992-LMC,-Machine-Doubled?

Thanks for any help,
Ryan

Not an expert but this is a plating issue I believe. Not MD. COOP or Coppercoins will set me straight. WOLF

It looks like one of those weird ones where the doubling is incuse on the coin. I think the concensus was some form of Die Deterioration, but I don't really remember hearing anything definitive.

I agree with Wolf, wait for some of the pros.

It's die wear. ALL cases that look like this (incuse doubling as Scooby calls it) are die wear on zinc cents.

The direction is always towards the rim on die wear. This one qualifies.
