It's been positive with me. Absolutely no fees whatsoever from eCrater, ever. It's absolutely free on their end. If you accept checks and money orders ( the minority way to pay these days it seems), there are no fees. But, to attract biz these days, you have to accept Paypal and, as I have elected, Google checkout as well. They will nail you with a small fee per transaction. Is it worth setting up a store, yes! Once you create your store, you can use the administrative tool to add coins, edit, delete, etc. Let me know if you need help with anything should you elect to set up your site ;-)

Brian, that's sad that you got no buyers, but good to know. Dave, have you had any significant buyers?

Shadow, I have your site bookmarked, I keep checking for things I truly "need". I want them all, but I'm trying to have some restraint. I always check CCF Member sites before I head over to ebay, so keep it up. I might even start my own.

I like ecrater so far, but I've only had my "store" for a few months now. The only problem that I have found is with inventory control. If you have an item listed for sale and someone buys it and opts to pay by check or money order the item is not marked sold or removed from the "for sale" section at all...you have to go in and remove it. I actually had 2 people try to buy the same coin twice in one night.

How is it they make money? They don't appear to charge a commission, and there's no advertising?

From traffic, I suppose. But even with traffic you need ads, right? Seems like a good option for me - who can't afford a brick-and-mortar but has enough spares to sell.

Thanks for your kind words guys, but its been a good lesson to me so its not really a problem....I may be able to start up some side thing there eventually, but I find that its better to just do business directly on here or go to ebay. I've had some good success with these methods. I've had some goofs, too!

It's here and there. It's cool that ecrater has a thing where you can see how many people have looked at a particular coin. At the beginning of the new Month, it resets. Some days, I turn on my smartphone and I have 2 or 3 sales. Other days, nothing. That's quite alright. Your coins sit in the store until that right person comes along that likes that coin :-)
