CLEANED!! DBM...long way to a 50..... maybe in the US, but not with either Canadian TPG. max EF40...max!! |

look at the absolutely clean scratches behind the neck. the coin is nearly 100 years old...... where was it? kept away from dirt? was it always stored perfectly. NOW, I am not saying that this coin is not nice. All I am saying is that I personally think it is cleaned. A TPG might think it is ok. DBM you are the expert. ( by the way, liked what you wrote in the other forum....) too bad we can not respond... |

I'm definitely not an expert, but that does NOT look cleaned, and without knowing the details of the strike for that issue I can't say whether it would be an AU/MS grade. However, on first look my guess would be MS63ish. Again, I don't know anything about the strikes for this issue, where the wear points are, etc. Quote:

Sometimes it's tricky to distinguish wear from strike.
To my eyes, the luster points to a MS coin.
