I brought it with mt yesterday to a local coin show where a senior grader with ICG was set up to give verbal grades as well as take submissions and he said he thinks it will go MS65 so I paid the $9 to have it graded along with 3 other coins. I will let you know if I hit it out of the park in a few weeks. This is the first set of coins that I ever submitted to any service.

I think that coin could make MS-65. Prominent dark back spots can limit a coin to MS-64 but the light brown speckled toning on that coin is natural and pleasing to the eye; should not grade limit it significantly.

A couple minor hits overall but nothing really distracting.

Well I got the coins back and this one did make the MS-65 that I was hoping for! I was so pleased. I also sent in a 1949D Roosevelt that came back MS-67. It's a very good day!

When I go to the FUN show in Tampa in January, I think I'm going to take them along to see about doing a cross over to PCGS or NGC. Thoughts?

Sorry I missed this the first time through .....

Soooo ... IMHO ... PCGS would grade this as MS64 at best .... you already have an IGC opinion of MS65 .....

My concern is with the contact marks in the focal points ..... and .... lets be honest here .... IGC reputation as well.

That said ..... great strike on the reverse ..... hardly ever see Hudson with details in the lower sail rigging.

I say go for the PCGS cross-over ...... but do not be disappointed with a PCGS MS64.

Nice coin ..... Thanks for sharing.
