I know its real

Sorry for my bluntness but no you don't. You've obviously never weighed it since you keep ignoring that question. So you can't possibly know it's real. You assume it's real because of a cool story. The odds of this assumption being correct are infinitesimal.

Okay here's the pics. Thanks to double07 for sending them! Double07 has stated the coin's weight is 0.956 grams and these pics are from his camera phone so they are low resolution. He has an interesting story about where this coin came from that lends credibility to it's authenticity. The reverse damage is of unknown cause.

All of the 1974 aluminum cents were minted with the large date dies. This one is a small date. It's not one of the aluminum cents. Sorry. What you have is something else, and it appears to have been soldered to something.

the penny was prob soldered with a torch
the heat cuases a silver film to develope over the entire coin

the last pic you posted it just looks like a regulat copper cent

I bet it was used in jewelry soldered to a belt buckle or earing then plated silver

what coppercoins means is the " thick date thin date " large small
two diff styles of numbers were used in the year if 1974 to mint cents
the alum used the large date numbers

yours is a small date , sorry your not gonna be richer today then yesterday LOL
just the way it is

The interesting thing is the weight of this piece. It is almost exactly the weight of the 1974 Aluminum cents.

That's not going to tell him a whole lot!

Definitely looks like solder - it's a shame too since it's from the right part of the country.

I have a few off metal strikes from countries other than the U.S. A small proportion of these are mint errors, rather than patterns. Most are silver proofs, where the the original coin would have been base metal.

Question: Did the U.S. mint have a contract around that time for minting coins for another country?

The post mint damage reminds me of a cuff link mount.

to athencate the cent the story goes like this

" mom mama was sleeping with a congressman , while he was in the bathroom cleaning up to go home to his wife , my mom raided his wallet and pockets looking for money , found some change "

I mean lets be real , you have researched the cent online and know how and to who they were given to
anyone can have a story , its just that a story

Didn't we see this "I found a 1974 aluminum cent" story about 4 - 5 months ago?
Is it being re-released AGAIN so soon for a Christmas present?
Or is this a sequel?
