I put 39 silver circulated dimes on EBAY[29Mercs.10Roos.] and put buy it now at $80 plus$2.50 shipping[about right at melt] and it sold in 13 minutes. Should I have reached a little more on price or be happy I got melt and move on?
I only have about $30 invested in the coins so I did fine.

I would be very pleased with a 166% profit margin. I say you did just fine. $80 for $30, how can that be bad?

This is a good time to sell silver. I think you did quite well. To draw an analogy, people who sold Dot com stocks back in 1999 or homes in 2005 did well regardless of whether they got the best execution price.

I was only asking because I wanted to know if I should put buy it now on future auctions or should I let them bid out. I didn't mean did I mess up making money, just could I have made a little more. You know if you have a car for sale at $900 and the first person that sees it jump up hands you the money and leaves you start to wonder if you undervalued it and they knew something you didn't.

I also do buy it now for my auctions. I like selling my stuff quick. I HATE when people pay with a credit card because paypal take even more! I enjoy buying and selling stuff so ebay makes since to me. You just have to take in account they will take 11% when it's all said and done. You did just fine. The dude who purchased it was thinking it was slightly under melt and is betting it will go up!

Realistically you have to look at the difference between what a dealer pays and what ebay pays less the fees. If the dealer pay 19x and ebay pays 22x and you lose 10% in fees then that is a good deal. If the dealer is 19x and ebay is 20x with 10% fees then you go to the dealer. The dealer is immediate and there is not market risk. If your coins are out there 3 days there is the chance of a large move in silver. Just my 2 small cents.

There is something to be said for a quick sale as well.
There seems to be a bit of frenzy for silver right now and some auctions are
actually going for more than melt. So maybe you could have gotten more but I don't think you should
have sellers remorse considering the profit realized.
I recently bought a small silver lot for less than melt and haven't received them yet.
I'm afraid he's having sellers remorse
