Can anyone give me some knowledge on what years/dates Jefferson's had weak strikes or are really hard to find Full Steps in?

Or can you point me to a good book or website? I'm getting good at picking good quality Nickels, but I'm interested in knowing which dates are harder to find higher quality.

Might help me when I'm browsing!

Thanks

I have posted dates and mint marks here a few times and I'd rather not put another same response up. If I can find a link to it I will follow up. As to a good book, I use this one as a guide.
I am not promoting the book or the seller. I just happen to google it and this one popped up.

In PCGS there is a guide that can help you pinpoint tougher Jefferson's by the FS prices here.
You may need to close a pop up before you can look at the page

Very useful PCGS link. I've been looking around there for stuff, but haven't been able to find anything. I thought you had to be a member to view that info.

I own the RedBook price guide and didn't know they made books like that. I think I may look into buying it!

Thanks for the help - and I'll be looking for some of your old posts also

I got my book cheap on ebay at some time, well under the list price.

I'll second that Whitman book - it's pretty good at letting you know about the quality of each year.

Wheezydog has made a lot of informative posts in this thread...

I started to link the individual comments, but there are just too many of them! I know it is a long thread, but a lot of others have contributed some good information as well. It is probably well worth the read.

Wheezydog .. is a good nickel expert, good one to go to if you have a question. The first book he listed, I also own. It does break down which years are rare or more common to have full steps. Of course that is according to the author.

Here is a link I like, because it has a good diagram of the steps.

I've read through some of that thread already, but maybe I'll have to do a search within it later when I have time.

Thanks for the other link also!
