After I had already bought the protective sleeves, I read your idea on the ZipLock bags in previous posts. Unfortunately, the albums won't fit in the 1 gallon bags. I did a quick search though and they do make a 2 gallon bag. I should look into that. I also like the idea of filling the empty slots at the end of the wheats. Good idea - I think I may have used all the ones I have, so I will have to fill a couple of holes to "reclaim" them. I can do that!

KenKat - great collection you have there. I might have missed this but how long did it take you to collect everything? Or how long have you been working on these album? Great hole fillers!

I started the Lincoln collection when I was a kid - early 70's. All circulated coins and lots of unfilled holes. In addition to the Lincoln set, I had a few other coins I had collected as a kid as well.
I got (seriously) back into coin collecting about 5 years ago. I started working on the 7070 first - and at least a few coins in there are ones I had from my childhood collection.
As the 7070 got filled up and only the more expensive coins were left, I started back on the Lincoln set - maybe 2-3 years ago - to keep busy while I saved up for some of the 7070 coins. I started by buying a couple of circulated wheat sets so that I had most of the coins. Then I decided to work on a Memorial set. Then I thought - well, it shouldn't be that hard to do the Memorial set in high grade/BU coins. From there, I sort of got the Lincoln fever and thought I would go BU with the wheats back to 1940. When I got that done, I thought I would go BU back to 1930. I'm still working on that - and now that the 7070 is full, that's been most of my focus. At some point, it's going to get expensive - so I may shoot for AU (or maybe less) on some of the teens and 20's coins. I still haven't decided that quite yet.

A suggetion of mine would be to take the tokens out of the place for the 22 plian, replace with a 22D for now. Then replace the tokens in for the 09S VDB and the 09S and replace with 2009 ones. Those would still stand out as not the right coins, but would free up some of the tokens for that place after the Wheat Cents. I like your idea of using those tokens rather than what some do by just placing any ocin in the enpty slots backwards just to fill an empty slot. I only have a few Dansso Albums and those do fit into the Gallon sized Zip Lock but possibly the ones with more pages don'w. All the rest of mine are bascially Whitman Classic Albums and they all fit into the gallos sizes. A Whitman Album is bit shorter and less deep than a Dansco.

Thats a really nice collection. I think I want to start that as I'm new to collecting and haven't really started an organized collection yet. Where did you get the "book/holder" all the coins are in?

That is a Dansco 7100 album. They are pretty readily available online or at coin stores.
There is also a version that includes proofs if you are so inclined.
