No not worth it. 13D raised ground is a Type 1 and is the more common of the two 13D and actually you should even restore that one since you know based on the reverse alone. Most of the rest are pretty much commons.

also the posting says MOST are restored. I would want to know how many are/are not restored, and if they are restored dates with nic-a-date, or other acid method. you could probably do as well buying dateless nickels and trying restoring them yourself. I bought 8 dateless for about 18 cents each delivered, and found 4 dateless - roll searching, and got a fairly similar mix. it seems to me the earlier dates, are the most commonly - dateless coins.

Sorry, retored coins are not worth as much as others profess. Properly concerved coins have a market all their own. It all depends on who concerves the coin.

I've restored a 1918/7-D I picked up for 16 cents and sold it for $300. If they are properly restored and key dates, they can sell for 10-15% of G4 value.

What exactly does he mean by "restored." There can be many things done to a coin to consider and call it a restored coin. I would ask him some more questions and find out just what was done to the coins up for sale. Also, are they all "restored?"

How do you go about restoring the date an these nickles? Apparently from what I am reading here they would not be considered an altered coin therefore lowering the grade?

It can be worth it ,restoring allowed me to get the key dates that would have cost a arm and a leg .

The guy selling the buffalo's does not have any key dates for sale. He has mostly 20's and 30's common dates
even in unaltered condition can be bought for a few bucks each

key dates
13-s type2
13-d type2
14-d
15-s
21-s

or even semi key dates
13-s type1
14-s
17-s
18-d
26-s
24-s
31-s

The guy thinks the 13-d raised ground is worth 50 $ ?, he is mistaken the coin even in xf is only worth $35 in a unaltered state.

I cant blame the guy for trying to sell them. I have a boat load of more common date buffs i'd like to get ride of to.

I'm trying to sell my duplicate key/semi first then deal with the rest later
