i would put this inbetween a F-12 and a VF-20. That would range ( RedBook 2009) at 90-95 dollars. It has slight wear on the coin but not much. It looks really good for that year. Most of my wheaties are about g4 to f12.

I'm actually thinking more like VF30. The wheats are starting to blend but the obverse definitly, IMO, is in the VF range. Has tiny spots of verdigris among the obverse devices but has great eye appeal other than that. $90 is VG bid (CDN). I would buy this one.

Looks like a good deal to me. Avoid using RedBook prices as they are usually high, but in the case of lincolns and the price increases they have been seeing, sometimes low.

Is that the approximate grade you are looking for? This particular date is pretty readily available in uncirculated condition. The price point stays pretty flat with many nice examples under $200. Just a thought - this looks like a nice deal too.

I don't think it's a bad price and you wouldn't go wrong if you did buy it, but I would think for just another $10-20, you could get a nice AU example. Just casting my vote.

I agree, there are plenty of higher grade examples available, almost too many. Mid grade examples are few and far between.
I really wanted a nice brown one and I was just not finding them. I finally found a solid brown AU for $130. For the record, I could have bought a red-brown AU for the same price or cheaper, but I love my brown wheat cents and wanted him to match.
That being said, I would have gladly paid $90 for this one. I think it is a better match for my collection and I would have saved $40.
It really depends on your goals. If you are, like me, building a nice, brown, mid grade wheat collection, the go for it. If you think you would be upgrading this one eventually, then go ahead and get the higher grade now (they are plentiful).

From what I have seen, nice examples of 31s go for around $100. This is a nice 31s for a decent price.
