VAM-84, I think - I seem to see the washed-out L in LIBERTY and the broken D in DOLLAR. I do_not see the expected dash under the 8.
Do you have the ability to do closeups, sk8er? If so, concentrate on the 3 things I mentioned above.

Sorry, don't see the "7" you've shared. Interesting, but too blurry for me to see when magnified.

Look at my coin, I can see a 7 but its not the same way as this one. If you rotate the "7" 90 degrees clockwise, it looks like that. heres some pics: You can see the "7" or whatever it is in this one Heres the "L" for you and another "L" The "D" The Date

OK. Kinda odd.
7TF, Long Nock, Disconnected Leaf. Not matching known parameters for 7/0 dies. No dash under 8, almost completely connected nostril. Seeming damage/difference of the "D" in "DOLLAR," but not rising to the VAM-84 definition. Date location is correct for 84.
I lean towards asking, "what caused VAM-84 to be *this* different from normal B1 dies," and "was that process immediate, or were there intermediate steps we don't know about?"
Mu gut tells me this is almost but not quite 84. What does that say, besides the fact that I'm hallucinating?

I would Welcome you to this forum, I worry when a new member's first question is about how much do you think my coin is worth!! I would suggest you do some research and learn about the wonderful world of Vams, I wish you well, good luck...........PS, No die cracks on the reverse at UNITED, while the D is broken, the are looks like the right top leg has a split serif, the B does NOT look doubled at the vertical line, also NO noticeable gouge marks in the letters in LIBERTY, Just my opinion...Vam 82

I have it as VAM 82, note the die cracks from the rim to the 3rd star and from the 3rd to the 4th star

sk8er, while we are awaiting the tribal elders' to make a decision on this..... let me say that picture of the "B" reminds me of this guy I used to know who had a psychedelic poster that he would stare at for just a few seconds and be off in la la land that quickly... sorta hurts my eyes though. edited to add: Quote:I have it as VAM 82, note the die cracks from the rim to the 3rd star and from the 3rd to the 4th star I'll take your word for it Gene, but my goodness, what a pair of peepers you have.... I can't even see the cracks that you mention.
