Hi Meldercat. It's a very lovely coin. I always admire hammered coinage, though not collect them. I am sure some veteran collectors here would appreciate it. Nice coin!

Nice coin! Nothing like holding a piece of history. I'll post a couple of my Charles I shillings later.

Nice! Old Ed was a looker! Or it's just the way his driver's license coin pic turned out?

Here's my QE1 shilling. I believe it's the Second Issue (1560 - 1561), MM cross crosslet.

Wow, real nice coin. I would love to get a Elizabeth I shilling. The half crowns and crowns are way out of my price range. The Edward I Irish piece was a pricey little item. Most older Irish and Scottish are especially in high grade. Actulally, any nicer hammered is getting pretty scarce. I searched for a while to find my Elizabeth I silver penny.

Beautiful! When I saw Quote: James 30 shillings my initial reaction was "Say what?". Had to run to my books to figure it out - seemed strange a denomination. But that's absolutely true, it is Scottish 30 shillings which was similar to "British" crown, 5 shillings. Thanks for sharing and making me learn a new thing!
