Hello all...

Again sorry for the newbie questions... Still learning every day with the coin community. I have a question about types of errors. Honestly I am not sure how to even use the appropriate words to do research with what I found, thus leaving me against a wall. I will post a picture in a few days but for the time being my question is this. I have a coin, when obverse facing upwards appears to be a 1920 Mercury dime... Upon flipping over, the reverse shows a Wheat penny reverse. So it is a sandwich of a Mercury dime obverse with a Wheat penny reverse. Any ideas? A gag coin? Are these errors true?

Thanks

sorry but it's not an error, it's a manmade novelty item made from 2 different coins.

Yep, not remotely possible to be made at the US Mint; aka " Magicians coin".

It is a trick coin and it is probably vintage. It does have value as a trick coin/numismatic novelty, I would guess $10 or so.
