Good catch, did you ask them for mint rolls or was it just luck?

It was luck. I was looking for halves and the teller next to me pulls out a colorful roll of quarters and asked another teller if she should break these. I told her that those are mint rolls and they usually cost $35 for a set of p and d. So I asked if she had anymore and she pulls three more from the safety box.

I have picked up some mint rolls of Kennedy halves at a bank before. I think I have around 7 rolls dated around 2001 or so...

The shrink wrapped rolls are Brinks rolls I believe.

They are not mint rolls and are not always all unc coins either, they can be but they not always are. Brinks does coins from large Fed banks also.

I'll check it next time I can. They are from one of the early State Quarter program years...I think they are unc.

"Mint Rolls" have writing on the paper that specifies they are straight from the mint. They are a marketing ploy by the mint to profit from normal coins, and it works very well. Many every year are suckered into paying the Mint a HUGE profit for what they should be getting from their bank at face value. There is no difference at all between the "mint wrapped" rolls and the "normal" rolls your bank gets except the wrapping paper.
