I see what you mean in liberty

libERTY ( little first few letters and big last few letters

seems to be a prob with alot of the mid 60's cents from what I have seen. I see it in other years also.

I saved a few untill I started finding alot roll searching then relized it was not very rare

I think I asked the sme question awhile ago

Someone said it was a worn die, someone said it was a planchet problem cuasing the first few letters to not strike correct.
No one really commented on wether it was collectible

I save them, they are interesting. I've never seen an 84 before. Nice find!

"strike it rich" says that "BIE" from die breaks are of slight value. ".05 cents - $5" of time of publishing.

That is a very nice BIE. There is a book dedicated to BIE's. I understand that the newer the coin the more value it has but even then it's not a lot. I would keep it.

Die chips forming on edge of the device that face the rim. There are probaly examples of earlier sign of die chipping. And the die will probably stop chipping till it is retired. They usuallu stop when they reach the top and bottom of the surounding devices.
