It's hard to make out the date steev. What are the obverse diagnostics for the 16 DDO?

Looks like doubling on the upper feather, but I am not sure if that would be unique to the 16/16

Look at the two hair ribbons...the thickening and the doubling. That's the real key. I hope member Mycrob picks up on this post. He's found two like this...

Dave: There is no visible date. I found this in a batch of no dates. The ribbons caught my eye, then the feathers, then the big "blobby" B in LIBERTY....

Well, from what I can tell that coin looks very very similar to one I found- the first photo attached- and I sent it in and ANACS certified it as 16 DDO (3rd photo). The 2nd photo is another coin that has many features in common with the first but the doubling in the ribbon was not readily apparent (due to wear?), but that, too was certified as having the diagnostics of a 16 DDO. Congrats, I think you have it! Send it into ANACS!

Thanks! Still trying to get better with my pictures- still too bright, but it helps I get a better camera!
Coin #4 I also didn't put an arrow by it but it has doubling of the eyelid, like Steve's coin at the top.
Good luck Steve and post back here when you get the results, should be like 3-4 weeks I think!

Yeah...I paid for the "5 day service" so 3-4 weeks sounds about right! LOL!

SWEET! I'm no expert in buffalos, but I would predict a DDO AG-3 grade. It actually looks a bit stronger than MYCROB's AG3. This looks to be something to be on the watchout for if they can be identified without nic-a-date....kind of a kindred spirit to the dateless 16 slq(almost as valuable too). I need to start searching some buffalos now! :-) Edit: Ok, I didnt read your last post until after I posted this...lol. BTW CONGRATS
