Hello
I am a new member, and new to coins and have a question about a Morgan I own.
My coin has an error it says (IN GOD W) The rest is missing.
It shows no scratch marks or damage, the rest of the words are just not there.
Does this make my coin special at all
Thanks
Alan

it is probably some type of strike through error but a picture would help us to determine exactly whats going on with the coin if at all possible and I also want to you to the forum

dont do quick reply, instead go up & look for the link to "reply to topic".
Once there see the little green camera that says add image next to it.
click that & follow instructions.
the file needs to be small, and the name needs to be simple with no spaces or special characters...

Likely what you are looking at is a grease strike-thru error. If your coin is in mint state condition, it is worth the price to have it graded and attributed as a mint error. Even if it is not mint state, please post a picture and it will help everyone here to evaluate our coin. Either way, you have a way cool coin.

Hello Everyone
Should have posted this with the photo, sorry still learning my way around.
The coin is an 1921 P Morgan and I think it is fairly good condition,

to me it does look like a strike through error, now struck through what I have no idea. A closer picture of the area effected would be needed to be 100% sure but that would be my guess by the pictures provided. I can see it blocked out part of the E in WE and TRUS in TRUST. I can see the T is either partially there or completely there. SuperDave is the resident 1921 Expert so he may know if this is one of the attributes to one particular VAM or now but I am guessing this is an error instead of an attribute of a VAM

And you are comletely correct in that assumption. It has all of the appearances of a grease strike-thru error.

This is a very spectacular mint error.

Just my curiosity here, would that happen to be a 1921 Morgan dollar?
