I have no clue about value and I'm not even considering buying this one, but for whatever reason I was looking up 32-D's on ebay.

Something just doesn't look right to me about this one and I'm wondering if it's been cleaned? Or even dipped possibly? If someone could chime in I'd appreciate it.

I'd be suspicious too, but I'm not an expert on these(or anything really)....but thinking the price would be way up if a lot of others didn't think the same way...I just think if it were original, it would be slabbed.Still 11 hours to go...guess we'll see

Definitely cleaned - whizzed with a buffer.

NEVER...hear me? N-E-V-E-R buy key date coins off a website sight unseen unless you KNOW the seller or unless the coin is certified by a major grading company.

Yes, the old "add glare to the coin so you cannot see the hairlines" trick

Suspicious on how there is really no dirt of any kind in or near the letters or numbers. If you click on enlarge you will see lines from possibly a brushing system. However, since only 436,800 minted, someone will or might still get a deal if cheap enough. It is always a shame when someone does that to a sort of rare coin.

Oh the coins going to sell multiple times from this point forward I'm sure. That's the problem, that coin is going to be in demand regardless of it's condition. It just wont be worth as much.

I just wanted to see if I have learned anything since I started collecting! Glad I picked up a little bit of knowledge!

It's not uncirculated either, obvious rub on on his hair locks.
Would have been a nice high grade coin if it wasn't dipped.

That guy should not have added the second set of photo because it loks really nice with the glare shots

I think he had to add the glare shots. So when the person complains he can just say "well you can see the marks in the pictures"

Yes luckyseven, and you pointed out a good thing about ebay....it's a great place to learn because you can see almost anything on there...or just browse and pick out stuff like this. As far as it selling multiple times...maybe not...mine looks similar but I'm satisfied with it and it'll stay in my Dansco.

I don't collect quarters, but my guess is that this coin probably looks pretty good if it's not under a loope. And for me that would be okay too - for my Jefferson's. I'd probably be okay with for a little bit if it were a Buffalo, but I would eventually have to upgrade. It would probably eat at me over time... idk though.

looks like they tried to hide it with the lighting but that one picture you can clearly see it has been altered by what looks like whizzing to me

I can't second that enough, especially as shady as ebay has become.

I did not pick up on the re-tone. How does one do that? I guess I don't quite understand this one yet.
