Very nice looking Half Cent Brian. Looks XF-ish and original. I'm not very knowlegable about varieties...how can you tell it is a 9/6? Comparing to the RedBook it looks the "Triple-Punched 9" example listed to me.

I saw something of a 6 in the last 9, so we'll see. I was also kind of hoping for an AU grade at that money; thought it looked lustrous and the strike looks pretty poor. But either way, ebay copper is usually not this nice so I just went for it. I have so much trouble winning the classic head Half Cents, it must be an offshoot of the CBH's and classic head cents because I've won a good number of draped busts.

This is the variety known as Distant 9 over 6 / Wide Even Legend in the Walter Breen Encyclopedia of Half Cents. (One easy marker for this variety is the rust pit in the die at the base of the last "A" in America. Nice XF in my humble opinion. Great coin.

I was gonna say XF too. Probably darker in person too, but very nice coin. Yeah the strike at the top looks a little weak near the rim. The details are nice. I'd say you did good for an early Half Cent, most aren't this nice

Strong price, but a choice type, problem-free, eye-appealing and an overdate to boot. The obverse and reverse are well balanced, grade-wise. I'd grade it XF-48... PCGS-45, methinks. Great for a type set ... enjoy! Such coins can only appreciate in value over time.
